Hansen Competes In US Biathlon Junior Team Trials

Justin Hansen, age 17 and competing in Biathlon through the Kenai Biathlon, competed in the Sprint and Pursuit events in the 2021 US Youth and Junior World Championships Team Trials on December 28 & 30th in Midway, Utah.

 

The Soldier Hollow Nordic Center and US Biathlon Association are hosting the US Youth and Junior World Championships Team Trials with racing through December 31st in Midway, Utah.

 

USBA Youth & Junior World Championships Trials, qualifiers for Team USA, held both Sprint and Pursuit finals on Wednesday and Thursday, December 29-30.

 

10K Sprint

Justin Hansen finished 33rd in a field of 33 in the 10K Sprint event.  Bjorn Westervelt posted a top time of 28:11.4; all other competitors times are calculated based on the fastest. posted time.

Hansen posted a +26:00.6 with a shooting record of 5+2 (shots missed per round).

10K Pursuit

Justin Hansen finished 32nd in a field of 33 in the 10K Pursuit event.  Bjorn Westervelt posted a top time of 34:29.1; all other competitors times are calculated based on the fastest. posted time.

Hansen posted a +30:37.7 with a shooting record of 2+5+1+3 (shots missed per round).

 

Justin Hansen is a senior at River City Academy in Soldotna and studying through the Middle College program with classes through Kenai Peninsula College.
