Hawks Sweep Kardinals In Non-Conference Basketball

The Houston Hawks cruised into Kenai and gathered a pair of victories in 3A divisional basketball at KCHS on Saturday.

 

Kenai Girls 25 – Houston 40

The Kardinal girls fell behind 14-6 in the first quarter and never lead, trailing 24-15 at the half in a 40-25 loss to the Houston hawks at KCHS on Saturday.

Houston lead by fifteen points after three quarters and lead that margin to the final score.  Abbie Baird lead the hawks with 13 points.  Kenai’s Emma Beck and Amber Nash each scored 8 points for the Kardinals.

 

Houston Boys 68 – Kenai 20

Houston overpowered the Kenai Kardinals on the strength of a trapping defense and very-efficient offense.  Houston built a 35-point lead in the fourth quarter resulting in a running clock for the final five minutes.

Kenai’s offense was lead by Bridger Beck and Caleb Litke with 5 points each; Kenai scoring in single-digits in each quarter.
