Homer Electric Association is wrapping up a series of community meetings around the Kenai Peninsula with two local events in Kasilof and Funny River.
Joe Gallagher: “On Wednesday, October 14, at the Tustumena School at 5:30 pm. And October 15,Thursday, we will be holding a similar meeting at 5:30 pm at the Funny River Community Center.”
Joe Gallagher with HEA says the meetings will begin with free barbecues and include a presentation about the costs that go into producing power.
Gallagher: “A lot of that has to do with natural gas prices, where we get our natural gas from, how much we pay for it. We do have a new contract that will be taking effect in 2016 with Furie, we will be talking about that as well.”
Gallagher says each meeting will also include a question and answer period for members.
