A complaint in regards to the deregulation of Alaska Electric and Energy Cooperative has been filed by a pair of Homer Electric Association members contending that the outcome of the deregulation hearing may impact Homer Electric Association Inc. members.
Peter McKay and Bob Shavelson, members of Homer Electric Association Inc. (HEA), submitted a complaint regarding the deregulation election of Alaska Electric and Energy Cooperative, asserting that HEA members are being denied their right to participate in AEEC’s deregulation election.
McKay and Shavelson also stated that they had provided a copy of their complaint to HEA’s General Manager and AEEC’s attorney with the intent of satisfying the requirement to notify HEA and AEEC of their complaint.
Generally, a utility has 20 days from the filing of a formal complaint to file an answer. Due to the time-sensitive nature of the issues raised in the complaint, HEA/AEEC are required to file an answer to the complaint by November 30, 2016 to the Regulatory Commission of Alaska.
