Homer Electric Association (HEA) has opened applications for its 2025 scholarship program, Youth Rally Leadership Camp, and the Electric Safety Poster Contest. These initiatives aim to support and invest in the next generation of leaders, providing valuable opportunities for students within the HEA service area.
The utility provider said in a press release, “HEA is proud to support our communities by investing in tomorrow’s leaders. ”
HEA’s scholarship program, now open to high school seniors and adults pursuing higher education or trade programs, reflects the organization’s commitment to serving a diverse student population. Scholarships can be applied to trade or apprenticeship programs and two- and four-year colleges and universities. This expansion of the scholarship policy is a direct effort by the HEA Board of Directors to better represent the community.
The Youth Rally Leadership Camp is open to high school sophomores and juniors and will take place in Nampa, Idaho, from Jul. 7 to 11, 2025. This camp allows participants to interact with over 90 students from seven states, gain leadership skills and industry insights, and participate in team-building activities. HEA will select two students to attend and cover all travel and expenses.
The Electric Safety Poster Contest invites grades 3 and 4 students to create artwork promoting electrical safety awareness. Prizes are available for top entries; more information can be found on the HEA website.
