Homer Electric Association has scheduled an outage for 3 am Tuesday morning.

Joe Gallager with HEA detailed the affected areas.

Gallagher: “The outage will affect the entire city of Soldotna and Funny River Road, it will also affect K-Beach Road from the Sterling Highway Intersection in Soldotna, all along K-Beach Road to approximately mile 13.5. The outage will again be at 3am, Tuesday morning, and last about 10 minutes.”

He said the planned outage is not due to the windstorm nor the Funny River fire.

Gallagher: “This outage is due to construction work we are currently doing at our Soldotna substation on Boundary Avenue, we have a new generation plant there and we are doing quite a bit of work on the substation.”

Gallagher said the windstorm over the weekend did quite a bit of damages.

Gallagher: “We are continuing to work on the aftermath of the damage that was caused by the windstorm this Saturday, we have all the power back but a lot of the repairs were temporary repairs and so we have crews out this week that will be making the permanent repairs to things like broken wires, damaged poles and things of that nature.”
