Next week Homer Electric Association crews will begin maintenance in an effort to improve reliability in the Kasilof area and expect short power outages.

Gallager: “This month as well as in February HEA will be replacing some fuses along the power line in Kasilof, basically between the K-beach road and Sterling hwy intersection in Kasilof south to about mile 127 just north of Ninilchik on the Sterling hwy. When we do this work there will be intermittent power outages just in the specific locations that we’re at at the time so the outages will genuinely last no longer than about 30 minutes.”
The outages may be longer depending on the work, Gallagher said, but will be isolated to whatever area the crews are working that day.
