High Temperatures Expected Over Weekend

The National Weather Service has forecast high temperatures for the Kenai Peninsula beginning Friday.

A strong ridge of high pressure is building first over southwest Alaska and shifting east, strengthening over the state’s mainland and creating the shift towards more summery weather patterns.

Saturday and Sunday will see temperatures continue to rise through the seventies with the warm weather extending into the first days of next week.

The weekend temperatures are expected to be some of the warmest seen this year.

The weather service is also forecasting a trough along the north gulf coast will produce dry offshore flow, thus suppressing afternoon sea breezes, and making typically cooler coastal locations hot also.
