The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning around Whittier and Seward as of 10:00 am Thursday morning, extending until 10:00 am Friday morning.
West winds from 35 to 50 miles per hour, and gusts up to 65 mph are forecast in Seward and Moose Pass.
North winds 35 to 50 mph are forecast for the Whittier and Girdwood areas with possible gusts up to 60 mph.
Drivers in those areas are urged to take caution around anything unsecured that may be able to blow into the roadway.
