The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a high wind watch in effect for the Turnagain Arm area from early Wednesday into early Thursday morning.
Winds from the East are expected to reach 45-60 mph with possible gusts of 75 mph.
Winds should rapidly increase tonight and peak around midnight on Wednesday into Thursday before diminishing in intensity Thursday afternoon.
Travel may difficult from the Peninsula into Turnagain Arm with risk of blown down trees and loose debris.
