HEA still has some power outages scattered around in Nikiski and Funny River areas. Approximately 70 members are without power.
9/15/24 at 8:20PM:
HEA crews have made progress but we have about 650 members without power stretching from Nikiski to Kasilof to Funny River and Sterling. Outages caused from the wind blowing trees from outside the right away into the powerlines.

Here is the current outage update. Multiple crews are responding.
410 Meters out on Forest Lane in Sterling.
196 Meters out on East Poppy off of Kbeach road.
162 Meters out In Anchor Point.
120 Meters out on Mackey Lake Road.
106 Meters out at the end of Funny River Road.
102 Meters out also off of Mackey Lake Road.
96 Meters out off of Pipeline in Nikiski.
51 Meters out off of Douglas Lane in Nikiski.
41 Meters out in Kenai across from the Schools.
39 Meters out on River side in Soldotna.
34 Meters out off of Balkum Road in Sterling.
31 meters out off of Matthews Road off Gaswell.
17 Meters out off of Cabin Museum Road in Soldotna.
9/15/24 at 4:15PM:
Power has been restored to an additional 700 members on Echo Lake and Gaswell Roads. Crews continue to work on the remaining power outages for the approximately 1300 members that do not have power.
9/15/24 at 2:30PM:
Approximately 2,000 members remain without power. Powerxhas been restored to most of Kalifornsky Beach Road but members on Gaswell and Skyline roads remain without power together with several outages on East Poppy. Cruiser also working on a pole replacement outside of Anchor Point to restore power between Anchor Point. We are also getting reports of several outages in Nikiski and Funny River. We have multiple crews responding to these outages.
9/15/24 at 2:00 PM:
HEA are down to approximately 3,900 members without power most of them in the Soldotna/Kenai area, with a smaller outage between Anchor Point and Homer. The cause of the outages is trees blowing into the line from outside the rights of way. Crews are responding.

Homer Electric Association is responding to a large outage in the Soldotna area impacting approximately 4,500 members.

Accroding to officials with HEA, due to the high winds, trees are blowing into the lines from outside the rights of ways. HEA crews are responding.
The majority of those without power are in the Soldotna area, other areas are between Homer and Anchor Point, and there is a smaller outage in Kenai.
