The areas of Whittier, Seward, Girdwood, and Moose Pass should prepare for high winds on Wednesday, according to a release from the National Weather Service.

A high wind warning is in effect from 6 am to Noon on Wednesday October 23rd. East winds 35 to 55 mph with gusts up to 75 mph expected in the Portage Valley and eastern Turnagain Arm.

Winds will increase across Turnagain Arm by 3 am Wednesday morning. For the upper hillside, winds will increase around 6 am. Strong winds are expected to be above about 2000 feet elevation (above Hillside Drive). Winds are expected to diminish around noon.
