Hilcorp Alaska says crews began on-site inspections of Kenai Peninsula and Cook Inlet facilities immediately following Sunday morning’s 7.1 magnitude earthquake.
Spokeswoman Lori Nelson with Hilcorp wrote in an email:
“There were no injuries nor any major damage to our facilities in the Kenai Peninsula and Cook Inlet areas as a result of the earthquake on Sunday morning.
We immediately initiated onsite inspections of our facilities in the area and did an aerial inspection as early as possible on Sunday morning of all pipelines and facilities.
The earthquake did trigger some precautionary alarms offshore which were deemed all clear.
Swanson River operations were without power temporarily, only resulting in minor process upsets.
We also experienced temporary outage of some compressors in the system but we were able to still meet the demands of local utilities without interruption.
We are continuing to closely monitor all of our facilities in this region.”
