Homer Hockey Rolls Over Stars In NSC Battle

The Homer Mariner hockey team continues to roll through conference opponents posting a 11-3 North Star Conference victory over the Soldotna Stars on Tuesday at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.

 

Homer opened with a four goal, first period and added five goal in the second period; while holding the Stars scoreless.

In the third period, the Stars scored a power-play goal by Wyatt Medcoff just :25 seconds into the third.  Medcoff added a second goal at 4:24 and the Star’s Alex Montague scored a power-play goal at 8;14 of the third period, with assists for Medcoff and Braxton Urban.

Homer closed the scoring with two final goals for an 11-3 victory.  Dimitry Kuzmin recorded a three-goal, hat trick for the Mariners.

 

Homer remains undefeated in North Star Conference play; the Stars are still searching for their first NSC win.

 

SoHi travels to Fairbanks for three, non-conference games beginning with North Pole on Thursday at the Polar Ice Rink.  The Stars play West Valley on Friday and Lathrop on Saturday, both games at the Patty Center.
