Homer Man Arrested For Domestic Violence Assault, Reckless Endangerment And DUI

Alaska State Troopers received a third hand report of an active disturbance off Lowbush Street in Homer on Friday, October 22nd around 9:30 p.m.

 

It was reported that the suspect, 28-year-old Garrick Simmons of Homer left the scene while Alaska State Troopers were in route. With the assistance of the Homer Police Department, Troopers were able to locate the vehicle and contact Simmons.

 

An investigation revealed that Simmons assaulted an unidentified household member and endangered the welfare of a minor, according to the online trooper dispatch.

 

Simmons was placed under arrest for two counts of 2nd degree domestic violence assault, 4th degree domestic violence assault, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, and driving with license revoked. Simmons was transported to the Homer Jail and remanded without bail.

 

After being placed under arrest, an additional charge of unlawful contact was added for attempts to contact the victim by phone.
