Homer Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

At 10:05 Monday morning, Fat Olive’s Espresso in Homer was reportedly robbed at gunpoint.

 

Michael Messina is a line cook at Fat Olive’s Restaurant in Homer, which is next door to the coffee shop.

 

Messina: “The cops had come in and asked if we’d seen anybody come in or out of the building wearing a camouflage coat, about 5’7″ and I hadn’t seen anybody. The girl at the coffee shop said somebody had come in with a handgun, taken the register, locked her in the bathroom, took the register and the phone and left.”

 

The police report described the armed suspect as 5’4″ to 5’7″ tall, around 140 pounds, wearing a brown camouflage jacket, baggy blue jeans and a black ski mask.

 

As of 1:30 pm, the Homer Police Department was asking anyone in the area that may have witnessed the crime or someone matching that description contact the department at 907-235-3150.
