In a conference softball slugfest, the Homer Mariners and Soldotna Stars combined for 38 runs in just five innings with the Mariners downing SoHi 23-15 in Northern Lights Conference softball action to open the final week of the regular season.
The Mariners improve to 6-2 in the conference and the Stars move to 4-5. The Northern Lights Conference softball tournament will be hosted by Soldotna High School on Friday and Saturday, May 27-28 at the Soldotna Little League Fields.
SoHi and Kenai travel to Kodiak to close the regular season against the Kodiak Bears on Friday and Saturday.
