Hospital Eyes OB Remodel and Electronic Health Record Upgrade

As the Central Peninsula Hospital works on their upcoming budget, CEO Rick Davis said the main thing that affects their budget is the population of surrounding areas.

Davis: “Again the hospital is self-supporting and we don’t depend on any outside money for funding. So even though the state budget and borough budget and city budgets are pretty tight, that won’t impact us directly.”

He said unless people are moving away, they will always be demand when people get hurt or sick.

Two big projects for the hospital during this budget cycle are the Electronic Health Record Project upgrade and a remodel of the obstetrics department. In an email Davis said that department is pretty old and in need of an upgrade.

The budget is expected to be finished by June 5.
