Human remains were found on the beach in Nikiski on Thursday, April 29th. Alaska State Troopers and Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded and the body was recovered by Wildlife Troopers. The identity of the individual is not known at this time. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy and work to identify the person. There are no obvious signs of foul play.
At this time Alaska State Troopers are waiting for an identification of the body and next of kin to be notified before further details will be released.
An investigation is ongoing.
