Following Dallas Seavey’s win of the Iditarod sled dog race at 4:04am this morning setting a new record of 8d 13h 4m 19s, praise has come from all over the state and even from Washington D.C.
Today Senator Lisa Murkowski spoke on the Senate Floor about a conversation with Seavey on his victory.
Sen. Murkowski: “Isn’t it nice to know after all the years that your dad waited up for you, you get to wait up for your dad before you get to take a break here.
Murkowski also spoke highly of everyone involved in this years Iditarod race.
Sen. Murkowski: “Alaskan’s are pleased with the outcome, we are happy again to celebrate amazing athletes both human and canine doing amazing things in an amazing state so I’m pleased to be able to announce today’s results.”
