The Alaska Oil and Gas Association has been watching development in and around Kenai with great interest.
Kate Blair with AOGA was optimistic…
Blair: “Everyone that we’ve spoken to just calls it a ‘boom.’ They say that the Kenai Peninsula is absolutely booming. Industry has taken off so direct oil and gas jobs have really taken off, but also the indirect and the induced jobs that have come from that, so whether it’s people that are actually out working on the platforms or it’s people that are supplying trucks or it’s the businesses in town, that there is just a boom happening on the Kenai Peninsula and jobs like no one has ever seen before.”
Blair said it’s her job to represent the industry and speak for oil and gas companies. AOGA headed up the successful “Vote No on 1” campaign last election season.
