The 2022 Iron Dog Snowmachine Race, following a mandatory break in Nome, returns to the trails with the lead teams scheduled out of Nome beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
The first team into Nome, 2020 champions Tyler Aklestad and Nick Olstad, will be the first to exit Nome after a mandatory layover, banquet and wrench time on their machines. Aklestad and Olstad can leave the Nome staging area at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday with all racers times adjusted for running time and maintenance time.
Aklestad and Olstad arrived in the halfway point at Nome at 2:17 p.m. on Monday, more than 40 minutes ahead of second place Casey Boylan and Bryan Leslie.
Team #34 Bradley Kishbaugh of Soldotna and Kelly Sommer of Nulato were seventh into Nome on Monday at 4:30 p.m. and will leave Nome in seventh at 11:23:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
Team #19 Chad Moore of Sterling and Travis Temple of Soldotna will be the 11th team out of Nome on Wednesday, scheduled to leave at 12:55:03.
Team # 18 Tad Covault of Soldotna and Jesse Bradley of Willow have dropped from the 2022 Iron Dog scratching out in Ruby on the North Route.
