Jacoby Sets New Unofficial American Junior National Record At FINA World Cup

In the second international meet in the FINA Swimming World Cup Series, Lydia Jacoby recorded two second-place and one seventh-place finish in the women’s breaststroke events at the 2021 FINA Swimming World Cup event in Budapest, Hungary held October 7-9.

 

Event Results: 200M, 100M and 50M Women’s Breaststroke

In the 200M Women’s Breaststroke, Lydia Jacoby finished seventh in the 200 breaststroke final with a time of 2:26.18.

In the 100M Women’s Breaststroke, Jacoby posted 1:05.40, just .20 slower than the 1:05.20 she logged last week in Berlin.

In the 50M Women’s Breaststroke, Lydia Jacoby’s swim marks a new unofficial American Junior record in the event with a time of 29.97.  She previously held the record at 30.04 from last week in Berlin. Jacoby took that mark from Lilly King’s quickest swim as a junior of 30.13 and is now just a second off King’s American record in the event of 28.77 from 2020.

 

Lydia will have a week off, as the next FINA World Cup stop of Doha, Qatar kicks off on October 21st, per the official schedule.
