The Kenai Community Coalition on Cannabis is getting ready to host a “town hall session in the form of a job fair”.
Marijuana advocate and recent canna-business license applicant Marc Theiler…
Theiler: “So the idea is just to basically have just a handful of likely employers there as well as employees to kind of have a meet and greet. On top of that kind of covering some of the things that employees need to be looking out for which will kind of handle like the anticipated handlers card and some of the anticipations, kind of what to expect.”
He says there may be a couple presentations about the new industry but the overall atmosphere will be sort of an informal networking event.
Theiler is a co-founder of Red Run Cannabis Company and says their business will look to change the public perception of marijuana and people who use it.
Theiler: “The idea of unkept long dreadlocks and big holes in your ears, kind of the typical stoner kids at the counter, that’s not the route that we’re going. We’re looking for very well-to-do, well-kept educated people that can speak and help people create an experience. Because our whole kind of feel and perspective is to create an experience. The people that we want to introduce to our retail and our store are people who haven’t even thought about consuming cannabis so we want to make it very comfortable for people to come in.”
The job fair will be held at 6:00 pm March 10th at the Challenger Learning Center in Kenai.
