The K-Beach High-Water Drainage Task Force is inquiring about how a proposed service area will affect the K-Beach neighborhoods impacted by the 2013 flooding.
District 1 Assembly Member Kelly Wolf introduced the proposed service area as a way to facilitate more input from his constituents who are against Soldotna’s annexation of the K-Beach business district.
Since his district is so large, Wolf said the High-Water Drainage Task Force asked him to come explain how it could possibly affect them.
Wolf: “The K-Beach Task Force wants to know how the economic development district’s going to help them as far as culverts and roads and stuff. I don’t think that [borough] public hearing is going to be the avenue to be able to explain that, I don’t think there will be time.”
The borough assembly’s public comment for the proposed K-Beach service area has been set for August 18 at 6:00 pm.
Wolf said he intends to answer questions at tonight’s 6:30 pm K-Beach High-Water Task Force meeting in the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association Building.
