The Alaska Department of Fish and Game issued notice that the Kachemak Bay gill net personal use coho fishery will close as 6 am Friday, August 22.
Those gillnets must be completely removed from the water by 6 am Friday and that fishery will remain closed for the rest of the 2014 season.
The department reminds permit holders to return their personal use permits to the Homer office within 10 days or by September 1 and all permits must be accurately and completely filled out even if no fishing occurred or no fish were caught.
Any permit holder who fails to return their personal use fishing permit to the Homer office will not be able to receive a 2015 permit.
