The Kenai Kardinals hosted the Homer Mariners in Southcentral Conference basketball on Friday at KCHS with the Mariner girls rallying to down Kenai 38-35 and the Kenai Boys holding-off Homer 66-59.
Homer Girls 38 – Kenai 35
The Mariner girls trailed 19-13 at the half to the Kenai girls and trailed by two 28-26 after three quarters. Homer outscored Kenai 12-7 in the fourth for the 38-35 win. Marina Carroll lead Homer with 10 points; Jaden Streiff scored 11 and Logan Satathite added 10 for the Kardinals.
Kenai Boys 66 – Homer 59
The Kenai boys scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to pull-away from the Mariners for a 66-59 victory in Southcentral Conference play. The Kardinals and Mariners played even 15-15 in the first quarter and Kenai led 30-27 at the half. Braedon Pitsch scored 16 and Lucas Tunseth added 15 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter.
