Kardinal Boys Never Lead In 64-52 Loss To Barrow

The Kenai Kardinal boys battled back from slow starts in both the first and second quarters; however, failed to match the offense of the Barrow Whalers in the second half as Barrow downs Kenai 64-52.

 

Kenai 52 – Barrow 64  Game Summary

Kenai fell behind 10-4 early in the first and trailed 14-10 after one quarter.  The Kardinals never lead in the contest.  Kenai climbed-back from a nine-point deficit to draw to within one point 21-20 at the half.

Barrow, with a 7-0 run midway through the third, opened an 11-point advantage at 40-29.  Lucas Tunseth for Kenai hit a pair of three-point baskets to close the third and opened the fourth quarter with a three to draw Kenai to within seven points–the Kardinals would get no closer.

Evan Stockton lead Kenai with 18 points and Lucas Tunseth scored 17 points.

 

Kenai continues tournament play on Saturday in the 3rd Place game scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at ACS.
