Kardinal Girls Fall To Mariners In Southcentral Basketball

The Southcentral Conference basketball tournament is less than four weeks away and positioning for the tournament bracket continues with a full week of conference contests for Kenai and Nikiski.

 

The Kardinal girls traveled to Homer and fell to the Mariners 37-21 in Southcentral Conference action on Tuesday.

 

Homer 37 – Kenai 21

The Kardinal girls managed a single basket in the first quarter and fell behind 10-2 after one quarter and trailed 22-6 at the half to the Mariners.  Damaris Severson lead the Kardinals with 8 points; Rylee Doughty led Homer with 11 points.

 

Kenai & Nikiski Schedule

Kenai and Nikiski host Southcentral Conference games on Friday and Saturday with an opportunity to improve each teams conference record.

Kenai opens against Grace Christian on Friday at KCHS with varsity games at 6 & 7:30 p.m.  Kenai plays reigning state champion and conference leading Anchorage Christian School on Saturday at KCHS with varsity games at 1:30 & 3:00 p.m.  All Kardinal games will be broadcast on KSRM 920AM and streamed live at www.radiokenai.com.

Nikiski hosts Houston at Nikiski on Friday with the varsity boys first at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity girls at 7:30 p.m.  Saturday, Nikiski plays Redington at Nikiski, again with the varsity boys playing the first game at 1:30 p.m. and the varsity girls at 3:00 p.m.  All Nikiski games will be broadcast on KKIS 96.5 FM and streamed live at www.radiokenai.com  

 

SoHi Basketball In Valley

The Soldotna Star boys battle Houston on Thursday in non-divisional basketball before a two-day Northern Lights Conference showdown with the Colony Knights.

The varsity boys play Houston at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Stars, girls and boys, face Colony on Friday and Saturday.  The SoHi girls coming off a pair of losses last weekend in Wasilla and the SoHi boys with a split against the Warriors.

Friday game times: Girls at 6 p.m. and Boys at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday game times: Girls at 1 p.m. and boys at 2:30 p.m.

All SoHi games will be broadcast on ESPN 1140AM and streamed live at www.radiokenai.com
