Kardinal Hockey Overpowers Stars 10-1 In NSC Opener

A five-goal, hat trick for Levi Mese powered the Kenai Kardinals over the Soldotna Stars in North Star Conference hockey on Tuesday at the Kenai Multi-Purpose Facility; the Kardinals downing the Stars 10-1 in the conference opener for both squads.

 

Kenai scored four goals in the first period, added four goals in the second period and closed with a pair of third period goals.  SoHi managed a single, second period goal.

For the game, Levi Mese scored five goals; Nate Beiser added a pair of goals and Kenai received single goals from Bailey Maxson, and Zach Burnett.  SoHi’s only goal produced by J.D. Schmelzenbach.

 

Kenai and SoHi return to North Star Conference play on November 30th with the NSC valley schools coming to the Peninsula for a three-game series against both the Kards and Stars.
