Kardinal Soccer Drops Pair On Friday & Split Saturday Games

The season-openers for the Kenai Kardinals soccer teams featured a two-day series with Grace Christian School at Ed Hollier Field at KCHS.

 

Friday Soccer Results

Grace Girls 1 – KCHS Girls 0

The Grace Girls, following a scoreless first half, scored just 1:55 into the second half and that single goal held-up for a 1-0 Grizzlies victory over the Kardinals in Friday’s season opener.

Grace Boys 3 – KCHS Boys 0

The Grizzlies shut-out the Kardinal boys on Friday 3-0 on Friday scoring a pair of first-half goals and adding an insurance goal in the second half.

Saturday Soccer Results

KCHS Girls 1 Grace Girls 0

The Kardinal girls recorded their first victory on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Grace Christian.   Chloe Goldsby scored 10 minutes into the second half for Kenai and Maddie Malone recorded a shut-out in goal for the Kardinal girls.

Grace Boys 3 – Kenai Boys 1

Wade James tied the game in the first half at 1-1 with the Kenai boys first goal of the season; however, Grace scored a pair of unanswered goals and took the second game of the two-game series 3-1.

 

Kenai Central will host the Kenai Jamboree at KCHS on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9.
