Kardinal Volleyball Wins Shayna Pritchard Memorial Tournament

The Kenai Kardinals volleyball team defended its 2020 Shayna Pritchard Memorial Volleyball Tournament title defeating the 2019 champion Soldotna Stars in the 2021 championship final on Saturday at Nikiski High School.

 

Kenai 2 – SoHi 0  Championship Game

Kenai completed an unbeaten tournament run with a two-game sweep of SoHi 25-12 and 25-20.  The Kardinals cruised in game one building a large early lead in the rally scoring format.  Game two opened with SoHi sprinting out to a 19-14 advantage; then, Kenai’s Emma Beck recorded 10-straight service points as the Kardinals closed-out the match.

Soldotna over Bethel 25-23 and 25-21

Nikiski downed Kotzebue 25-17 and 25-21

Kenai over Nikiski 25-16 and 25-17 to advance to championship game

Soldotna over Sitka 19-25, 25-17, 16-14 to advance to championship game

5th Place Game: Kotzebue over Bethel 25-17, 18-25 and 21-19

3rd Place Game: Sitka defeated Nikiski 25-20 and 25-16

 

Friday Pool Play Game Results

Soldotna defeated Kotzebue 25-9 and 25-23

Sitka defeated Bethel 25-19 and 25-23,

Kenai defeated Kotzebue 25-9 and 25-3

Nikiski defeated Bethel 25-16 and 25-11
