The Kenai Kardinal boys team closed-out competition at the 2017 ASAA State Soccer Championships with a tie in the 3rd place game on Saturday.
Kenai Boys 2 – West Anchorage 2 Tie for 3rd Place
The Kardinals lead 1-0 over West after one half of play on a Damien Redder goal. West tied the game late in the second half. The Kardinals answered with a Zack Tuttle goal; only to have West score a tying goal to close the game’s scoring. Tyrone McEnerney played in goal for the Kardinals, after Tristan Landry suffered a concussion in the Friday loss to West Valley. Final Score: Kenai 2, West 2.
