The final basketball contests before Christmas Day featured Kenai hosting Seward on Thursday in non-conference, endowment games at KCHS. The endowment game concept allows teams to play additional games beyond the season game limits; those contests not counting on season records or statistics.
Kenai Girls 46 – Seward 37
The Kardinal girls held Seward to a single field goal in the second half, along with 14 made freethrows, as Kenai pulled away for a 46-37 victory. Jaycie Calvert lead Kenai with 15 points.
Kenai Boys 46 – Seward 31
The Kardinals held Seward scoreless in the first quarter and Kenai lead 24-7 at the half, on their way to a 46-31 non-conference victory over the Seahawks. Adam Trujillo lead Kenai with 13 points and Luke Beiser added 11 points.
