The Kenai Kardinal Hockey team overcame a 4-1 deficit in the second period and scored the game-winning goal late in the third for a 6-5 North Star Conference victory over Homer on Thursday at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.
Kenai was lifted by a four-goal effort by Levi Mese, including the game-winner at 10:19 of the final period. Kenai trailed 4-1 in the second before a three-goal outburst tied the game at 4-4. The teams traded goals in the third before the Kardinal final score.
