The Kenai Kardinals thrive in overtime (3-0 on the season) and on Saturday Kenai downed Juneau 5-4 with an overtime, power-play goal by Daniel Sheldon recording a Railbelt Conference victory over the Crimson Bears.

Jacob Begich back-checked a short-handed break-away attempt by Juneau and lead the Kardinals game-winning attack pushing the puck to Ayden Spann who feed Darnel Sheldon for the game winner. Kenai records a third overtime victory on the regular season.
Begich opened the scoring and Reagan Graves added a goal for a 2-1 Kenai first period lead. Juneau tied the game at 2-2 early in the second period and took a 3-2 lead mid-way through the period. Begich re-tied the game at 3-3 to close the second period.
In the third period, Kenai’s Caden Warren opened with a goal to stake Kenai to a 4-3 lead; Juneau tied the game on a power-play goal with under five minutes remaining in regulation.
The overtime, game winner for Kenai’s Daniel Sheldon capped a power-play attack and moved Kenai to a home-ice conference victory.
Kenai returns to the road with conference games in the Valley this week, facing Palmer on Friday and Houston on Saturday.
