Kardinals Split Basketball Pair With Redington

The Kenai Kardinals hosted Redington High School to open a full January schedule of high school basketball, splitting with the Huskies on Friday at Kenai Central.

 

Kenai Girls 45 – Redington 34

The Kardinal girls opened a 13-2 lead in the first half and cruised to a 45-34 victory over Redington.  Emma beck lead the Kardinals with 20 points including 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Redington 51 – Kenai 45

The Kenai boys lead 14-11 after one quarter; however, Redington lead 25-20 at the half and never trailed in the second half, enroute to a 51-43 Husky victory at KCHS on Friday.  Caleb Litke lead the Kardinals with 12 points; Bridger Beck added 10 for Kenai.  Redington’s Wayde Bowman lead the Huskies with 12 points.

 

Kenai hosts Houston on Saturday at KCHS with the varsity girls scheduled for 2 p.m. and the boys varsity set for 3:30 p.m.
