Championship Saturday at the ASAA 3A State Volleyball Championships will feature the Kenai Kardinals, following a three-set sweep of the Sitka Wolves in Friday’s winner’s-bracket contest at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.
Kenai will face the winner of Saturday morning’s game between Sitka and Valdez in the championship game at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Kenai 3 – Sitka 0
The Kardinals controlled play throughout Friday’s contest against Sitka winning three straight sets: 25-16, 25-21 and 25-17. 
Kenai advances to the championship game and the Kardinals opponent will be a team which Kenai has previously beaten in the state tournament.
Nikiski Volleyball
In the Friday play-back rounds, the Nikiski Bulldogs advanced with a comeback win over Barrow winning game five 15-13. Nikiski then fell to Valdez 25-11, 18-25, 25-16 and 25-16, eliminating the Bulldogs.
