The Kenai Kardinals and Nikiski Bulldogs celebrated post-Christmas with a pair of endowment basketball games at Kenai Central on Saturday.
Nikiski Girls 52 0 Kenai 41
The Nikiski girls pulled away from the Kardinal girls in the second half for a 52-41 non-conference basketball victory. The Kardinals lead throughout the first half until Nikiski’s Rachel Thompson hit a three-point shot at the buzzer to end the first half with the Bulldogs leading 27-25. Thompson finished the game with 23 points.
Kenai Boys 59 – Nikiski 38
The Kardinal boys lead throughout their contest with Nikiski, downing the Bulldogs 59-38. Austin McKee lead Kenai with 19 points; Nate Carlson lead the Bulldogs with 12 points.
The Kardinals travel to Homer on Tuesday, December 30th for non-conference games against the Mariners.
