Kards, Bulldogs & Stars Battle Through Conference Volleyball Weekend

Volleyball conference games featured home contests for the Nikiski Bulldogs and Kenai Kardinals and a two-game road trip for the Soldotna Stars.

 

Nikiski Volleyball

Nikiski faced Grace Christian on Friday at Nikiski High and fell to the Grizzlies 25-21, 25-10, 19-25 and 25-17 in a four-set match.  Rylee Ellis recorded with six kills and Ashlynne Playle added five.

The Bulldogs defeated Anchorage Christian School on Saturday in three-straight 25-21, 25-16 and 25-19 for the Bulldogs first Southcentral Conference victory.  Savanna Stock had five kills, Playle added four kills and Ariel VanZandt added four kills and six blocks.

 

Kenai Volleyball

Kenai recorded a three-game sweep of Seward  25-14, 25-8 and 25-15 in Southcentral Conference volleyball on Saturday.  Jorgi Phillips recorded 30 assists and Andie Galloway lead Kenai with 10 kills.

The Kardinals improved to 5-0 in conference volleyball.

 

Soldotna Volleyball

Soldotna High School traveled to Palmer for Northern Lights Conference contests on Friday and Saturday.  The Stars fell on Friday 25-17, 25-19, 20-25 and 25-9. and dropped Saturday’s game  25-16, 28-26 and 25-20.  Chloe Armstrong recorded 10 kills for the Stars on Friday and added eight kills on Saturday.  Emma Brantley totaled 35 assists for the two-game series.
