Kards Drop Pair To Mt. Edgecumbe In Sitka

The Kenai Kardinals opened a four-day, road trip to Southeast Alaska with the first of two nights at Mt. Edgecumbe High School for basketball contests against the Mt. Edgecumbe Braves.

 

Kenai Girls 31 – Mt. Edgecumbe 34

The Kenai girls held a 30-29 lead with 2:00 remaining; however, the Kardinals managed only a lone free throw to close the game.  Mt. Edgecumbe took the lead at 31-30 and added a basket at the buzzer for the 34-31 victory.

Kenai Boys 45 -Mt. Edgecumbe 52

The Mt. Edgecumbe boys lead 26-20 at the half and 39-32 after three quarters, en route to a 52-45 win over Kenai.  Braiden Pitsch scored 20 points for Kenai in the non-conference loss to the Braves.
