The high school baseball season showdown on Wednesday between Kenai and SoHi continued to fuel-up with both Kenai and SoHi recording conference victories on Tuesday and both teams remaining undefeated in the Southcentral Conference.
Kenai 14 – Homer 4
The Kardinals continue to pound-out double-digit runs against conference opponents recording a 14-4 victory over Homer on Tuesday. Paul Steffenson again lead the offense onslaught with a 3 for 4 day at the plate. The Kardinals recorded 15 hits in the mercy-rule, five inning game. Zach Selinger recorded a complete game with five innings, allowing four hits. The Kardinals improve to 7-0 on the season.
SoHi 6 – Colony 5
SoHi remained unbeaten in Southcentral Conference play with a come-from-behind victory over Colony 6-5 on Tuesday. SoHi downed Colony on a David Michael walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning scoring Caleb Spence. The two-run, seventh inning and 6-5 victory keeps the Stars unbeaten in conference games with a 4-0 record. SoHi lead 4-0 after after three innings; allowed five Colony runs; then scored a pair of runs in the seventh. Reliever Austin Asp pitched two innings in relief and recorded the win on the mound, allowing one hit.

The Kardinals host the Stars in Southcentral Conference baseball on Wednesday at the Kenai Fields. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. for the varsity contest.
