Kasilof River Special Harvest Area Opens Tonight

The Kasilof River Special Harvest Area will open tonight to setnetting and drift netting at 9:00 pm.

“Emergency order No. 15 opens set gillnetting in the Kasilof River Special Harvest Area (KRSHA) from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10 until 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015. This announcement also opens drift gillnetting in the KRSHA from 9:00p.m. until 11:59 pm on Friday, July 10, 2015. We will update this recording within the next few hours with our decision on where we will be fishing on Saturday. We are still waiting to get more catch data in from yesterday’s catch period.”

 

Thursday’s Kasilof River’s sockeye salmon sonar passage estimate was 8,700, for a season total of 214,000.

 

Kenai River’s Thursday sockeye salmon passage estimate was 23,000, for a season total of 95,000.
