Kasilof Three Vehicle Collision Claims Life Of California Woman On Sunday Evening

Alaska State Troopers state that a deadly three-vehicle crash claimed the life of a resident of California Sunday evening, according to the online trooper dispatch.

 

On Sunday, July 25th at 6:25 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash near milepost 111 of the Sterling Highway in Kasilof. An investigation revealed that 60-year-old Nancy Virlee Christiansen of Emerald Hills, California was heading northbound in a blue 2019 Hyundai vehicle when she crossed the center line and collided with a black 2016 Nissan Murano driven by 51-year-old Heather Lynn Turkington of Clam Gulch.

 

After colliding with Turkington’s vehicle, Christiansen collided head on with a red 2016 Chevrolet pickup driven by 62-year-old Henry Kurgan of Anchorage.

 

Christiansen suffered serious injury and was reported deceased at the scene of the collision. Kurgan and a passenger in his vehicle suffered minor injuries. Turkington reported no injuries.

 

The circumstances surrounding the fatal motor vehicle collision and leading up to it are currently under an Alaska State Trooper investigation.
