The Kenai Central Kardinals and Homer Mariners are back on the big stage, ready to compete in the Class 3A State Basketball Tournament from Mar. 19-22 at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage. After none of these teams made it to state in 2024, they’re eager to make their presence felt against some of the top programs in Alaska.
The action tips off early on Wednesday, Mar. 19, with the No. 7-seeded Homer boys facing a tough test against No. 2 Sitka at 8:00 a.m. The No. 4-seeded Kenai girls follow at 9:30 a.m. in a showdown with No. 5 Valdez, while the No. 6-seeded Kenai boys take on No. 3 Mt. Edgecumbe at 11:00 a.m.
