Earlier this afternoon Kenai Central High School was placed on lockdown after a threatening text to a student.
Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Assistant Superintendent Dave Jones…
Jones: “In response to that text, Kenai Central High School went on lockdown. Officer Prins was on site when we went into lockdown, additional officers from the Kenai Police Department responded, officers from KPD found the individual that had sent the threatening text. We are out of lockdown, there was no violence, no students were injured.”
He said that at this time he does not have enough information about the suspect to know if the text was from another student in KCHS or from someone outside.
We will update with more details as they become available.
