The Paint the Kenai Mural of Fanny Ryland’s “Kenai La Belle” is slated to be installed at the Kenai Airport this spring.
The project installation was waylaid last year due to lack of volunteers and project coordinator Marcus Mueller said they are still working on that.
Mueller: “Just lining up volunteers and getting things all in order, making sure we have adequate plans so that the city is able to review the work that is going to be done on their building.”
The 12 x 24 foot piece will be attached to the exterior wall of the airport between the arrival and departure doors.

Mueller: “There should be more updates that we’ll have available, we’ve got a facebook page, Paint the Kenai, and as things start shaping up in terms of a schedule we’ll be providing updates to make sure everybody is informed and keep the excitement level up.”
The project worked to demonstrate the importance of art installations in the community and through it 24 local artists were found.
Muller said he’d still love to help coordinate those mural ideas with local property owners.
