The Kenai Kardinal baseball team manufactured eight runs in an 8-7 victory over Houston in Southcentral Conference action on Wednesday. Kenai improves to 4-4 on the season, with a non-league game against Wasilla scheduled for Saturday in Kenai.
The Kardinals trailed 4-2 in the third inning and took a 6-4 lead with a three-run, fifth inning. Kenai made the most of seven hits. Gavin Petterson belted a two-run home run in the sixth inning to break a 6-6 tie.
