Kenai faced-off against Homer in baseball and softball on Tuesday with the softball girls in Homer and the Kenai boys hosting the Mariners.
Kenai Girls 13 – Homer 9
The Kenai girls softball team rallied for a Northern Lights Conference victory 13-9 over the Mariners. Kenai trailed early then took the lead at 8-7 in the fourth inning. After Homer tied the game in the fifth inning, Kenai closed with a four-run, seventh inning for the 13-9 NLC victory.
Kenai Boys 20 – Homer 5
Kenai needed only two innings to run-rule the Mariners in conference baseball at the Kenai Field, the Kardinals defeating Homer 20-5. Kenai scored three runs in the first and 17 runs in the decisive second inning.
