The Kenai City Council officially certified their election results, where Teea Winger was officially introduced to the Council. This occurred during the Wednesday evening meeting.

In the October 6 election where two City Council Members were to be elected, Teea Winger won with 723 votes, Henry Knackstedt won with 682 votes, and Tim Navarre lost his seat, having received 629 votes.

Winger was in attendance with her oldest son, addressing the council to say that she hopes her son will be active in watching council meetings and that this meeting would be a perfect time to show him one in-person.

Council Member Tim Navarre will be exiting the council and Ms. Winger will officially be on the council during their next meeting on November 4. She will be certified on Monday, October 26.

Mayor Brian Gabriel took time during Wednesday’s meeting to pay tribute to Navarre’s many years of service, both on the City Council and in other areas of public service in Kenai.
